PI LO CHUN - The Shells of Spring

E 523

(Pi Lo Chun, Bi Luo Chun) The name of this tea is translated as " The Spring of the Green Shells", " The Blue-Green Shells of Spring " or similar. Processed leaves are tightly coiled into the spirals. This famous and valued tea comes from two mountains known as Eastern and Western Dung Ting, that overtower the Tai-Hu lake. There are peachtrees plumtrees and apricots planted among the teaplants and they give their smell to revealing tea leaves. The flush begins in the days of spring equinox and it ends in the end of april. Only the buds with one half-reveled leaf are reaped. There's about 70.000 buds in a 0,5 kilo of tea. Limited amount of this very aromatic tea is produced, therefore many copies of it is available today in the czech trade.
